We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual Accounts Assistant to join our team in Galway.
Key Responsibilities:
Accurately process supplier invoices, credit notes, and payments for group entities, ensuring correct documentation, coding, and authorisations are in place prior to posting to the general ledger.
Perform routine accounts payable functions in line with established processes for weekly and monthly financial cycles.
Administer subcontractor payment certificates and ensure compliance with Revenue's Relevant Contract Tax (RCT) obligations.
Follow standard AP procedures and best practices as outlined in internal operating manuals and training materials.
Handle supplier communications efficiently, addressing invoice and payment queries within agreed service levels.
Conduct regular supplier account reconciliations and maintain accurate records, including review and clearance of open items and unused purchase dockets.
Generate and submit payment runs on a weekly basis, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
Process employee expense claims on a monthly basis, in accordance with internal policy.
Provide reception support during breaks, leave, or as scheduled.
Provide cover for AP colleagues during periods of absence (e.g., annual leave, sick leave).
Support ad hoc finance and administrative tasks as required.
Candidate Profile:
Strong organisational skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Minimum 1 year of experience in an accounts payable or finance administration role, ideally within a high-volume environment.
Confidence managing a variety of tasks under pressure and meeting deadlines.
Experience in the construction industry or related sectors is advantageous.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Outlook, and Word.
Full, clean driving licence (Irish/UK/EU).
Fluent written and spoken English is essential.
