Clerical Officer (Patients Accounts Officer)

Grade IV

Part Time Hours (28 hours per week). Permanent Contract.

Responsibilities Include:

• Submit private insurance claims to LAYA Healthcare weekly while adhering to deadlines to maximize revenue for the hospital. This involves processing all claims and submitting after QA checks.
• Patient and account enquires on an ongoing basis in all communication methods.
• Dealing with third party companies regarding patient bills and claims.
• Liaison with the Patient Accounts Manager on weekly submission targets and any concerns arising.
• Debt Collection: Generating & monitoring if debt collection with external agency. Replying to all correspondence.
• Reviewing LAYA pended claims, follow up with relevant consultants & billing agents.
• Analysis of LAYA rejected claims & appealing same.
• Dealing with self-payer claims and following up of same.
• Monitor private long stay patients.

Eligibility Criteria - Qualifications and/or Experience

Essential:

• Excellent Microsoft Office skills to include Word and advanced Excel.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.

Desirable:

• Knowledge of private health insurance requirements.
• Knowledge of IPMS & Claimsure IT systems.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Previous financial experience.
