Clerical Officer (Patients Accounts Officer)
Grade IV
Part Time Hours (28 hours per week). Permanent Contract.
Responsibilities Include:
- Submit private insurance claims to LAYA Healthcare weekly while adhering to deadlines to maximize revenue for the hospital. This involves processing all claims and submitting after QA checks.
- Patient and account enquires on an ongoing basis in all communication methods.
- Dealing with third party companies regarding patient bills and claims.
- Liaison with the Patient Accounts Manager on weekly submission targets and any concerns arising.
- Debt Collection: Generating & monitoring if debt collection with external agency. Replying to all correspondence.
- Reviewing LAYA pended claims, follow up with relevant consultants & billing agents.
- Analysis of LAYA rejected claims & appealing same.
- Dealing with self-payer claims and following up of same.
- Monitor private long stay patients.
Eligibility Criteria - Qualifications and/or Experience
Essential:
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills to include Word and advanced Excel.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
Desirable:
- Knowledge of private health insurance requirements.
- Knowledge of IPMS & Claimsure IT systems.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Previous financial experience.
