We are looking for a Deputy Programme Editor TV News.
Reporting to the Series Editor and the Programme Editors, TV News, the Deputy Programme Editor will support the preparation and production of scheduled and special programmes.
About the role:
This appointment will be made on a Full Time, ongoing contract basis. The salary scale is €79,466 to €89,219 gross per annum.
A panel may also be formed following this competition from which future vacancies may be filled, or to fill in occasionally for leave or other absences.

- Provide editorial, production and sub-editing support on TV News bulletins and during live coverage
- Provide editorial leadership and edit bulletins and live coverage, as required
- Initiate news content
- Develop graphic and production ideas for reports on RTÉ bulletins and programmes
- Help to produce and enhance output across all news platforms
- Role involves working shifts across weekdays, weekends & public holidays
- Have excellent editorial judgement, written, subbing and scripting skills
- Experienced journalist capable of working under pressure to tight news deadlines
- Possess strong visual skills to enhance the production values of our news output
- Have good interpersonal and team skills
- Have an in-depth knowledge of news and current affairs
- Understand the need to develop constructive working relations with other disciplines within RTÉ
