Role Summary:
Vardis Security is seeking experienced, professional Event Steward Operatives to support our operations across high-profile events in the Republic of Ireland. The ideal candidate will hold a current PSA licence (or SIA if cross-border) and demonstrate a strong command of situational awareness, crowd management, and public-facing professionalism. You will play a vital role in ensuring the safety of patrons, staff, and assets while representing Vardis Security’s reputation for excellence in protective services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver a highly visible, controlled, and professional security presence at various events.
- Carry out entry control duties including accreditation checks, guest screening, and bag searches.
- Monitor crowd behaviour, identify risks, and escalate as required.
- Manage access control to VIP, backstage, restricted or high-value areas.
- Respond rapidly to incidents, disturbances, and emergencies with appropriate protocols.
- Communicate effectively with venue management, Gardaí, emergency services, and internal teams.
- Support evacuation procedures and uphold public safety measures.
- Maintain accurate incident logs and produce detailed reports post-event.
- Operate in line with Irish safety legislation, event licensing requirements, and Vardis Security protocols.
Essential Requirements:
- Valid PSA Licence (Door Supervisor / Event Security).
- OR valid SIA Licence (if working cross-border or on UK-based assignments).
- Minimum 1 year of operational experience in events preferred, or similar in crowd management, or protective security, Training will be provided.
- Strong verbal communication and conflict resolution skills.
- Clean, presentable appearance and commitment to professional standards.
- Ability to stand for long periods, manage crowd flow, and act swiftly under pressure.
- Fluent English both written and spoken.
Preferred/Desirable:
- First Aid Certification (PHECC-recognised or equivalent).
- Close Protection experience (PSA/SIA CP licence desirable).
- Experience working with event control rooms, CCTV monitoring, or access systems.
- Garda vetting clearance (or willing to undergo).
- Stewarding, or health & safety qualifications.

- Variable shifts including weekends, evenings, and public holidays
- Outdoor and indoor deployments
- Exposure to large crowds, dynamic environments, and high-pressure situations
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: From €13.50 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 20 per week
