Pat the Baker/Irish Pride – Supervisor Role
Pat the Baker has been an Irish household brand since 1953, with Irish Pride ranking as the 6th largest Irish-manufactured grocery brand in the retail market. Pat the Baker and Irish Pride are now seeking to expand their team with the addition of a Supervisor to help lead and support production operations.
Role: Production Supervisor
As a Supervisor, you will play a key role in ensuring efficient operations, maintaining quality standards, leading team members, and supporting the delivery of high-quality products. You will oversee daily production activities, ensuring adherence to company policies, safety standards, and production targets.
Key Responsibilities:Product Quality & Compliance
- Oversee and verify product checks and metal detection processes are carried out as per procedures.
- Ensure products are accurately recorded on Ross.
- Conduct and supervise spot checks, verifying:
- Best Before dates are present, accurate, and legible.
- Products are correctly packed onto trays.
- Only full baskets of ALDI/LIDL products are released to dispatch.
- Products meet quality standards and are wrapped appropriately.
- Ensure Product Evaluation Records are maintained and completed during each shift.
- Supervise bread weight checks, temperature checks, and quality checks per standard procedures.
- Manage metal detection systems.
- Ensure faults are reported promptly to QA.
- Ensure corrective actions are taken and documented in line with procedure.
Team Leadership & Supervision
- Supervise production staff and monitor workflow to ensure productivity and efficiency.
- Assign tasks clearly, delegate responsibilities, and provide ongoing support and guidance to team members.
- Set performance goals and shift targets in line with company objectives.
- Maintain high team morale and ensure open communication with employees.
Operational Oversight
- Ensure on-time packaging of products to meet dispatch deadlines in line with packaging schedules.
- Liaise with the Quality Department to uphold the integrity of quality systems and address quality-related issues.
- Monitor and enforce safety, hygiene, and organizational standards across the production area.
- Maintain operational flow by developing work schedules, allocating resources, and resolving operational issues as they arise.
- Communicate effectively with senior management and relay relevant updates to the team.
Performance & Compliance
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback, coaching, and mentorship as needed.
- Handle staff issues in line with company policies, including performance management and disciplinary actions when necessary.
- Ensure compliance with all legal, health, and safety regulations.
Additional Duties
- Support daily operations by stepping in to assist with tasks such as:
- Area wash downs.
- Preparation of pallets/baskets.
- Other duties as assigned by senior management.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a supervisory or team lead role within a production or manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Good level of English is essential.
- Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
- A proactive attitude with a commitment to quality and continuous improvement.
