This is an onsite dispensary based position reporting directly to the pharmacist on duty, and working as part of a close-knit, friendly, retail community pharmacy team. Responsibilities:
Dispensary
- You will be required to work closely as a valued member of the pharmacy team to support each other, achieve our business goals and live our core values.
- You will assist the Pharmacist with dispensing medicines, verifying prescriptions, advising patients and promoting patient drug compliance, and pass on Pharmacist advice to the patient.
- You will be responsible for putting away drug orders and maintaining dispensary stock.
- You will be responsible for reviewing blister pack medications and prioritising them accordingly.
- You will liaise with FOS staff, being mindful of customers waiting and help out when support is needed and work closely with the whole team and check the daily communications book making sure to resolve any issues as they arise.
- You will help manage claims and re-claims under the various HSE schemes, including end of month procedures.
Customer care
- You will be responsible for the care of the customers as part of the pharmacy team ensuring the safe and effective use of medicines and providing trusted professional advice for all our customers.
- You will be familiar with the over the counter medicines and front of pharmacy stock in order to advise customers
- You will show respect in your behaviours and manners towards our customers, yourself, your colleagues and all of our stakeholders
Experience required/Person specification:
- A recognised Pharmacy Technician or Dispensing Technician Qualification is required and 2 years pharmacy experience in a pharmacy technician role is an advantage
- You will be self motivated, with excellent attention to detail, and also know when it’s important to draw on the support of your colleagues
- You will be comfortable with learning the use of relevant IT systems used for ordering, email, reports and the EPOS (Electronic) till system
- The candidate will have excellent communication skills in both written and verbal English
- You will be available to work 40 hours per week with some Saturday commitment. There may be an option of job share / part time, depending on how the recruitment process evolves, and the right candidate.
- Wages €18 to €22 per hour
