PennEngineering is a global leader in the manufacturing of specialty fasteners and provide quality, value added products and services to our customers from our manufacturing and technical facilities around the world.
We are now seeking a Quality Technician who wants to become part of a highly motivated team based in our Galway manufacturing plant.
Position Summary:
To conduct in-process testing, monitor quality control and support problem solving and continual improvement activities within the Heat Treatment /Electroplating /Inspection /Packaging areas, reporting to the Quality Manager.
Shift Pattern:
This role will be evening shift, 39 hours per week.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Process Auditing & ensuring process controls are in place and effective
- Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety standards by actively promoting safe work practices and participating in regular safety audits and training.
- Issuing of certification documentation to customers when required
- Manage the issuing and completion of yellow cards (NCM).
- Guide quality procedures to operators and supervisors
- Assist all departments with additional testing when required
- Product inspection/evaluation
- Perform other duties as may be assigned.
- In-process measurement & testing of Heat Treatment/Electroplating processes
- Communication to operators/ supervisors/engineering on quality issues
- Assist with, and lead, the resolution of quality issues in the area with the B3 team
- Assist with, and lead, quality improvement projects with the support of the B3 team
- Ensure compliance with IATF-16949 requirements
Qualifications:
- Experience in a similar manufacturing or quality environment would be a strong advantage.
- Certificate or Diploma in an Engineering or Quality discipline, or the willingness to work towards this certification, would be an advantage.
- Good mathematical and communication skills are necessary.
- Computer skills are required, particularly the ability to use spreadsheets and databases
- Ability to work on projects with personnel at all levels of the organisation
Other Requirements:
- Experience in a similar manufacturing or quality environment would be a strong advantage.
