ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Be responsible for catering operations across a number of care homes for emeis Ireland.
- Implement standardized catering operating policies across the homes and ensure full compliance with legislative requirements
- Ensure both Opex & Labour budgetary compliance for all catering activity for emeis homes
- Provide monthly written reports to the Head of Catering highlighting all important catering activity in emeis homes
- Liaise with chefs on menu changes, roll out of new products, seasonal changes and APLs.
- Work with homes, marketing department and activity teams on the co-ordination of events throughout the year to include Christmas, BBQs, Cultural and local home initiatives.
- Work with the Director of Nursing and catering managers in each care home to ensure full compliance, e.g. HACCP, EHO audits, HIQA and Quality audits. Report the findings of these audits to the Head of Catering and identify corrective actions were implemented to remedy the issues raised.
- Liaise with Director of Nursing & local catering teams to ensure efficient rostering of catering teams across all homes.
- Support local homes with audit action plans and continuous improvement.
- Liaise with HR & Training department and Directors of Nursing, and catering managers to ensure best practice in the following areas:
a. Training & Development of local catering teams.
b. Performance Management
c. Appraisals
d. Recruitment
- Provide an environment where positive change is welcomed and best practices are championed.
- Assist with Catering & Quality innovation teams with local projects.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Catering and\or Hospitality qualification is essential
- At least 5 years senior catering management experience in a multi-site environment.
- Culinary\Chef qualification essential
- Previous healthcare experience desirable.
PREFERRED SKILLS
- MS Office proficiency
- Ability to lead large teams and standardize procedures across multiple sites.
- Event management experience
- Excellent people & communication skills.
ADDITIONAL NOTES
- Working day will be from 9am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday.
- Travel will be required periodically to emeis care homes.
- Salary range will depend on experience
