Overview of the role
Key responsibilities and duties include:
- Work as part of and support cross disciplinary teams working in preliminary design, statutory consent, and construction stage projects in the energy, water and transport sectors
- Support the process of preparing constraints studies, option assessments, public information documents and statutory applications for public and private infrastructure projects
- Prepare high quality mapping and analytical assessments to inform infrastructure project development
- Assist project managers, scientists, and engineers in collating, analysing and presenting various datasets
- Implement resilient data management processes
Candidate specification
Essential:
- Relevant Degree or Post-Graduate Qualification (e.g. GIS, Data Analytics, Remote Sensing or related/relevant discipline)
- Experience in the ESRI ArcGIS Desktop suite of software and extensions for analysis, map production and GIS Database management
- Familiar with ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Apps such as Collector, Field Maps and/or Survey123
- Knowledge of Python Scripting Language (would be an advantage)
- Knowledge of current sources of publicly available data (National Parks Wildlife Service;
- Environmental Protection Agency, Geological Survey Ireland, CSO etc)
- Knowledge of appropriate map projections and transformations in Irish context (e.g. transformation between IG and ITM)
- Experience in georeferencing and digitising
- Production of large map sets of publication quality mapping
