Job Description
This position is responsible for playing a pivotal role in the deployment of changes and enhancements to SAP Commerce Cloud platform (Formerly known as SAP Hybris). Manage the entire release lifecycle, from meticulous planning and coordination to flawless execution and post-deployment support.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead the entire release management lifecycle for SAP Cloud Commerce deployments, from initial planning to post-go-live support.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive release plan, including timelines, resource allocation, and risk assessments.
- Collaborate with development, testing, and business stakeholders to ensure all changes are thoroughly tested and meet business requirements.
- Manage the SAP Cloud Commerce process, ensuring all changes are properly documented, tracked, and deployed to the appropriate environments.
- Oversee the go-live process, including system cutover, user communication, and rollback procedures.
- Monitor system performance and identify any post-deployment issues, working with development teams to resolve them promptly.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of SAP Cloud Commerce best practices and emerging technologies.
- Develop and document clear and concise release procedures.
KNOWLEDGE:
In addition to the core responsibilities, success in this role requires a strong knowledge base. Expertise in SAP Cloud Commerce and associated Tool sets, with a deep understanding of its architecture, functionalities, and deployment options. Familiarity with customization and configuration processes is essential. On the release management side, a proven understanding of the entire lifecycle, from planning to post-deployment support, is crucial. Well-versed in methodologies for release planning, including timelines, resource allocation, and risk assessments. Experience with change management and version control systems is a plus. Knowledge of cloud-based deployments. While not mandatory, knowledge of DevOps principles, and an understanding of cloud security best practices will further strengthen candidacy. Strong judgment and analytical ability, evaluation, originality and ingenuity required to perform tasks. Resolve a wide range of issues and assignments in creative ways.
SUPERVISION:
Receive minimal instruction on day-to-day work and minimal instruction on new projects or assignments.
MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE:
Typically 6 to 8 or more years of increasing responsibility in terms of any applicable professional experience.
PREFERRED EDUCATION:
Typically a Bachelor's Degree or global equivalent in related discipline. Master's degree or global equivalent a plus. May hold one or more industry certifications.
SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
- Proven experience as an SAP Cloud Commerce Release Manager or similar role.
- In-depth understanding of SAP Cloud Commerce architecture and functionality.
- Strong understanding of release management methodologies and best practices.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Typically, to advance to a new job level, Candidate must demonstrate professional behavior and should consistently be at the high-end of meets expectations or consistently exceed expectations.
TRAVEL / PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Travel typically less than 10%. Office environment. No special physical demands required.
