Monaghan Hire, is a leading plant machinery and hire company, committed to providing top quality equipment and excellent service. We are looking for an experienced and motivated Workshop Manager to join our team and oversee the day-to-day operations of our busy workshop.
Job Description:
As a Workshop Manager you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of our workshop, managing a team of mechanics, and ensuring all work is completed to the highest standard. You will be responsible for coordinating repairs, maintenance, and servicing of plant machinery to keep downtime to a minimum.
Key Responsibilities:
- Schedule and allocate work to mechanics to ensure efficient workflow.
- Ensure all repairs, servicing, and maintenance tasks are completed to a high standard.
- Maintaining Health & Safety standards & ensuring that training is kept up to date.
- Oversee the implementation of new workplace systems.
- Assist in training and mentoring apprentices.
- Work along side mechanics as needed to support the team in completing tasks.
- Ensure breakdowns and urgent repairs are resolved as quickly as possible.
- Collaborate with the parts administrator to organise parts.
- Maintain a safe and organised working environment, adhering to company policies and health & safety regulations.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in a similar role within plant hire, construction, or heavy machinery industry.
- Strong technical knowledge of plant machinery and equipment.
- Leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and support a team.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to challenges.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to priorities workload effectively.
- Strong communication skills.
