Des Hughes Motors, a well-established and trusted name in the motor industry, is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounts Technician to join our team in Portlaoise. This is a full-time position ideal for someone with a strong background in accounts and a proactive approach to financial operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Processing accounts payable and receivable invoices
- Managing daily payments, receipts, and bank reconciliations
- Issuing month-end customer statements and managing accounts to ensure timely payment
- Maintaining accurate records of vehicle purchases, sales, and stock levels
- Performing month-end closure routines
- Completing statutory tax returns including VAT, PAYE, PRSI, and VRT, along with related reconciliations
- Collaborating with external partners to complete monthly management accounts
- Utilising Microsoft Office to manage day-to-day tasks efficiently
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar accounts role
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience in the motor industry is an advantage
Possibility for role to be a hybrid once established in the position.
