The Great Southern Killarney is looking for a Assistant Events Operations Manager to join our dynamic team and play a key role in delivering seamless events and exceptional service.
About the Role:
You will be a visible and active leader on the floor, ensuring the highest standards of service across a variety of events—from high-profile conferences to elegant banquets and private celebrations. Working closely with the Events Operations Manager, you will help to lead, develop, and inspire the team.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Lead by example with a strong and consistent floor presence during all events
- Building and maintaining excellent client relationships, by understanding changing requirements and responding proactively to meet client's needs.
- Ensuring the highest standards in health and safety, food safety and hygiene are adhered to at all times.
- Ensure the smooth delivery of service, maintaining attention to detail and guest experience
- Support the Manager in day-to-day operations, team supervision, and staff development
- Motivate and coach the team to uphold service standards and foster a collaborative working environment
- Liaise with clients, kitchen teams, and other departments to ensure all event requirements are met
- Maintain operational standards in accordance with company policies and guest expectations
About You:
- A confident and proactive leader with a hands-on approach
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong focus on guest satisfaction and service excellence
- Experience in conference and banqueting or events within a quality-led hospitality environment
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and adapt quickly to changing needs
- Passionate about leading a team and delivering memorable experiences
