The Tram Cafe is recruiting a Bakery Assistant on a part time contract (evening shifts).

The Bakery Assistant plays a vital role in supporting bakery operations and ensuring high-quality baked goods for Tram Café locations.
Responsibilities include:
- Baking & Production: Assist in baking cakes and pastries, ensuring daily orders are completed efficiently and accurately.
- Pastry Preparation: Prepare, laminate, and fold doughs as required. Shape and proof croissants with precision and care to maintain quality standards.
- Waste Monitoring: Track and record waste in the designated waste book to minimize losses.
- Inventory & Deliveries: Assist with handling deliveries and organizing ingredients properly.
- Equipment Maintenance: Ensure bakery equipment is clean, stored correctly, and operated safely. Report any defects immediately for repair.
- Team Collaboration: Work effectively with colleagues, supporting one another to complete all tasks efficiently.
- Health & Safety Compliance: Adhere to all food safety and hygiene regulations, including completing necessary daily HACCP records when required.
- Production Efficiency: Follow production schedules and meet daily targets to ensure smooth workflow.
- Professionalism: Maintain a clean and presentable appearance at all times.
- Additional Duties: Perform any other tasks as reasonably requested by the Senior Baker or Bakery Manager.
- Reliability & Work Ethic: Demonstrate dependability, conscientiousness, and a proactive approach to work.
Qualifications-
The applicant must have previous experience with pastry production.
The applicant must be available for afternoon shifts (2pm-8pm)
