We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Machine Operator to join our sawmill team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining our bandsaw machine, sawing log into timber products according to specifications at a fast pace environment. This role is critical in ensuring efficient production and maintaining the high standards our customers expect.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate bandsaw , including controls, to process logs into specified timber sizes.
- Monitor equipment performance, making necessary adjustments to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Inspect logs/ length and finished products to meet quality standards.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment.
- Collaborate with team members to meet targets.
- Working in a very fast paced environment
Requirements:
- Previous experience in sawmill operations or machinery operation is preferred but not required.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to operate computerized control systems.
- Knowledge of basic timber sizes and dimensions is required.
- Ability to visualise cut dimensions of timber
- Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality products.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to varying workloads.
- Physical ability to lift, carry, and move materials as required.
