Job Purpose:
The BIM Technician will work as part of the design and engineering, with a focus on Revit model development, maintenance, and collaboration for electrical systems. The role ensures that the Revit model is accurate, up-to-date, and compliant with project requirements and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and manage the development of electrical BIM models for modular builds.
- Ensure accurate integration of electrical systems within multi-disciplinary models.
- Coordinate and manage federated Revit models across architectural, structural, and MEP disciplines.
- Implement and enforce BIM Execution Plans (BEPs) and project-specific modeling protocols.
- Maintain model health by performing regular audits, clash detections, and resolving coordination issues.
- Collaborate with design teams to ensure consistent application of BIM standards and naming conventions.
- Facilitate BIM coordination meetings, model reviews, and interdisciplinary design coordination.
- Setup and manage shared parameters, templates, and families in Revit.
- Support the integration of models into Common Data Environments (CDEs) such as Autodesk Construction Cloud, BIM 360, or similar.
- Generate accurate construction documents, schedules, and reports from the model.
- Train and support project teams in best practices for Revit modeling and BIM workflows.
- Liaise with consultants and subcontractors to integrate external models and data.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 19650 standards or other relevant BIM frameworks
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, building services, or have strong previous experience in electrical and mechanical fitout will be considered.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience working with Revit in a professional setting.
- Strong understanding of BIM principles, model coordination, and multi-discipline integration.
- Proficiency in Autodesk Revit (Architecture/MEP/Structure) and Navisworks Manage.
- Experience with BIM collaboration tools such as BIM 360, ACC, Revizto, Solibri, or similar.
- Knowledge of clash detection, model audits, and data validation.
- Familiarity with industry standards such as ISO 19650, PAS 1192, and COBie
Preferred Qualifications:
- Autodesk Certified Professional (Revit or BIM).
- Experience with Dynamo for Revit, Rhino/Grasshopper, or visual scripting tools.
- Experience in large-scale construction or infrastructure projects.
- Familiarity with IFC standards and open BIM workflows.
- Understanding of construction sequencing (4D) and cost integration (5D).
