The Merrion, one of Dublin’s finest luxury hotels is recruiting for an Desk Concierge.
Reporting to the Head Concierge, this is a fulltime permanent role based onsite, 39 hours per week. This role is responsible for assisting the Head of the department in planning and in daily concierge operations, ensuring that all our guests receive the highest level of service before, during and after their stay.
The successful candidate will oversee a team comprising Supervisors, Doormen, and Car Valet Parkers. They will have a proven track record in a Concierge role in the hospitality field along with a strong working knowledge of the English language both spoken and written.
Maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of local attractions, events, dining options, and other amenities, they will actively network and build key contacts within Dublin’s hospitality, culture and events sectors.

Key Responsibilities
- Warmly welcome and acknowledge all guests, anticipating their needs to deliver an exceptional 5-star service.
- Assist guests with luggage, directions, transport arrangements, and local recommendations.
- Manage guest cars in accordance with procedures and ensure the safe handling of belongings.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of hotel services and local amenities to assist with reservations for taxis, restaurants, theatres, flights, and events.
- Handle guest correspondence and enquiries (telephone, email, in person) with professionalism and efficiency.
- Ensure smooth communication with colleagues and management, attending briefings and training sessions.
- Uphold Merrion and LQA standards, policies, and security responsibilities at all times.
- Support with night porter duties when required.
- Contribute to sales by positively promoting all hotel services.
- Take responsibility for training and supporting junior team members.
About You
- Previous experience in a luxury hotel or concierge role is an advantage.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
- A professional, polished appearance with a genuine passion for guest service.
- Knowledge of Dublin’s cultural, dining, and leisure scene is highly desirable.
- A valid driver’s license (for guest car parking) is required.
- Flexible to work varying shifts, including evenings and weekends.
