Financial Manager – Marketing

Hybrid - 2 days per week (Dublin only)

The Finance Manager – Marketing will assist in delivering financial and management information to all internal and external stakeholders, focusing predominantly on accounting and reporting for marketing costs. This will include being involved in the management of specific operating expenses and the reporting of monthly results with analysis.
This role is within the Global Financial Control team, and is designed to be working closely with the FanDuel Finance team and other Fanduel teams, including Marketing and FP&A. Flexibility to align working hours with US time zone (EST) during peak times will be required.
The role will provide leadership through clear communication of responsibilities, guidance when required, training and development where appropriate and proactive performance management.
What You’ll Do
- Assist with the production of month-end numbers for Brand Marketing and Customer Acquisition within Group Reporting/US team deadlines.
- Prepare month-end accrual and reclass journal entries for the FanDuel Marketing area.
- Provide Actual vs. Budget analysis on assigned accounts, flagging key variances in advance of close.
- Preparation, maintenance, and reconciliation of certain Balance Sheet accounts within set deadlines.
- Examine marketing contracts, ensuring accurate accounting treatment and GL posting, maintaining contract tracker.
- Ensure accurate G/L mapping.
- Support the implementation of standard methodologies to simplify, standardize, and automate processes to help the business scale effectively and enhance month-end timelines.
- Provide financial information to management by researching and analysing accounting data to support key decision-making.
- Collaborate and communicate with various US-based teams.
- Proactively engage with assigned budget owners to improve processes and procedures around monthly accruals.
- Continuously review processes and procedures in light of changes in systems and requirements of the business and adjust as required.
- Work with management to detail accounting processes and internal controls.
- Proactively engage in cross-training initiatives.
- Work closely with the Financial Controllers on various ad hoc tasks.
- Assist in the production of budgets and forecasts, ensuring the completeness of monthly accounts and supporting commercial decision-making.
- Deliver timely and accurate financial information to the Group reporting and US teams.
- Build and maintain relationships with key business partners (internal and external).
- Assist with building out vendor-level reconciliation processes for specific partners.
- Assist FP&A with preparing and monitoring budgets for committed deals.
- Proactively engage with internal and external audits.
- Support related teams within Finance to produce the best results for the team overall.
How You’ll Do It
To succeed in this role, you should have:
- A qualification as an accountant with 3+ years of experience in a similar environment, demonstrating a proven track record in financial reporting and analysis.
- Experience in a US GAAP/SOX environment (advantageous).
- Keen attention to detail and a drive to improve quality.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, able to challenge collaborators and performance manage direct reports effectively.
- The ability to explain financial concepts to non-financial staff confidently and professionally.
- Comfort working with large volumes of data and in highly automated environments.
- A team-oriented approach with the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment.
- Experience with Oracle ERP or similar financial systems (advantageous).
- Excellent proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel.
