Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Restaurant Manager with a deep understanding of wines to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in restaurant management, exceptional leadership skills, and extensive knowledge of wines to enhance our guests' dining experience.
Responsibilities:
- Overall Operations Management:
- Oversee daily operations of the restaurant, ensuring smooth and efficient service.
- Monitor and manage staffing levels to meet operational needs.
- Implement and maintain high standards of service quality.
- Staff Training and Development:
- Provide training to restaurant staff on service standards, product knowledge, and customer interactions.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Develop and execute ongoing training programs, especially related to wine service.
- Customer Service:
- Ensure exceptional customer service and address customer concerns promptly.
- Maintain a welcoming and hospitable atmosphere for guests.
- Demonstrate a strong knowledge of the menu, especially the wine list, and assist guests with selections.
- Wine Program Management:
- Curate and update the wine list, considering current market trends and customer preferences.
- Work closely with suppliers to ensure a diverse and high-quality wine selection.
- Train staff on wine service, including proper storage, pouring, and pairings.
- Financial Management:
- Monitor and control restaurant expenses, including food and beverage costs.
- Contribute to budget planning and financial forecasting.
- Implement strategies to maximize profitability.
- Marketing and Promotion:
- Collaborate with the marketing team to create promotions and events focused on wine offerings.
- Actively engage in building relationships with local wine communities and organizing tasting events.
- Health and Safety Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Implement and enforce sanitation standards in the restaurant.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Restaurant Manager, preferably with a focus on fine dining or upscale establishments.
- Strong knowledge of wines, including varietals, regions, and pairings.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle pressure gracefully.
- Proven track record in achieving financial targets and managing budgets.
- Familiarity with point-of-sale systems and restaurant management software.
- Certification in wine studies or related field is a plus.
Education and Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in restaurant management.
- Certification in wine studies or a sommelier certification is highly desirable.
