Job Summary
We are hiring a Groundskeeper & Maintenance Operative to help maintain and improve the grounds and buildings of a historic period property and associated locations in Cashel.
This role suits a reliable, hands-on individual with experience in gardening, caretaking or light maintenance who is happy to work alone with some flexibility of hours. Full-time and part-time applicants welcome. The role involves lots of variety and so an adaptable person would be well-suited.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain lawns, flower beds, hedges, and outdoor areas including occasional use of quad bike, ride-on mower, hedge trimmers, strimmers, leaf blower, leaf vacuum and chainsaw.
- Prune, weed, tidy and clear gardens and driveways
- Light maintenance: painting, exterior wood care, window cleaning, external structural cleaning
- Car washing / valeting
- Maintenance of landscaping equipment.
- Liaise with the owner for planning and updates
- Oversee tradespeople for specialised works
- Run occasional errands (e.g., document deliveries to court locations)
Requirements
- Previous experience in groundskeeping, caretaking, or maintenance
- Full clean driving licence with vehicle as ability to travel is a requirement
- Ability to work independently and use initiative
- Safe use of gardening and maintenance tools
- Good communication and time management skills
- Advantageous but not essential: experience with dry or wet stone wall repair
