JOB DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a highly competent Head of Department to lead the Beverages, Confectionary & Snacks Team and develop, implement, and manage a clear and visionary strategy for the portfolio.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership & Team Development
Lead, coach, and develop the Beverages, Confectionary & Snacks (BC&S) brand team to foster a high-performance culture.
- Act as the primary liaison for country managers and brand principals, building strong, collaborative relationships across all levels.
Marketing & Commercial Strategy
Develop and execute a clear, visionary strategy for the BC&S portfolio aligned with Richmond’s growth ambitions.
- Localise and implement global brand strategies effectively across the Irish and Northern Irish markets.
- Own the commercial performance of the BC&S brands, driving profitable growth through data-led decision-making and budget planning in collaboration with Finance and Commercial teams.
Sales & Trade Execution
Partner with Field Sales and Commercial teams to deliver exceptional in-trade execution at both head office and field level.
- Evaluate and optimise Off-Trade Joint Business Plans (JBPs), ensuring efficiency and course-correcting where necessary.
Performance Monitoring & Insights
Track and report on all key performance indicators including distribution, rate-of-sale, budget adherence, SKU and channel performance, and brand equity metrics.
- Identify risks and opportunities through robust analysis and market insight.
Innovation & Brand Growth
Drive the New Product Development (NPD) agenda using grounded consumer insights to identify growth opportunities.
- Collaborate with the Leadership Team to evaluate and onboard new BC&S brands, managing the pitch process and integration into the Richmond portfolio.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Strong people management and leadership experience is essential.
- Commercially astute with relevant analytical skills and experience in budget management.
- A strong communicator with a proven ability at stakeholder management and the ability to foster close working relationships.
- A strategic thinker, good at analysis and problem-solving with strong planning and organisation skills.
- A creative thinker with the ability to innovate and 'think outside the box'.
- A resilient self-starter with a result driven, entrepreneurial streak.
- Passionate about consumer trends and building brands in the Irish marketplace.
- An understanding of the FMCG industry.
