Ophthalmic Technician:
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our friendly and innovative team within the Cork Eye Clinic. We are looking to fill a permanent full time position and a temporary position to maternity leave cover.
Cork Eye Clinic was established in 2014. Operating from our state of the art fully equipped suites we have been treating thousands of patients. We strive to provide the highest standard of care possible to all our patients. Patients are treated with integrity dignity and respect.
We are looking for a highly motivated individual to work as part of a multidisciplinary team. You will provide appropriate assessments (and interpretation of results where indicated) for Ophthalmology patients. You will have an interesting and varied work load.
We are looking for those with excellent communication skills, who are able to use their own initiative to ensure outstanding patient care and service. You must be able to work under pressure alone and as part of a team, and remain kind and compassionate in your work.
This position is permanent subject to a probationary period.
The Duties of the Position Include:
Assistance to the Doctors, Optometry and Nursing functions;
- Carrying out pre-screening examinations & working alongside the wider team in day to day running of the clinic.
- Performance of Ophthalmic Diagnostic Testing.
- Assistance with management of patients during consultations.
- Assistance with the clinic administrative functions.

- Provide pro-active support to the Ophthalmic Surgeon to maximize patient care and to ensure the smooth running of the clinic.
Qualifications:
This position would require a person with a Science, Medical, Dental, Nursing or Technical qualification, particularly those interested in a post-graduate qualification, or previous healthcare experience.
Previous ophthalmic experience is advantageous but not essential as full training in the use of equipment will be given.
We are looking for a person with a strong service ethic & patient care focused.
