About Us
Deeley Construction is a well-established company specializing in high-end residential renovations and extensions. Our projects demand precision, initiative, and an ability to take ownership of the work—from breaking ground to final handover. We pride ourselves on our commitment to quality, professionalism, and maintaining a safe, tidy, and respectful work environment.
Role Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced and self-motivated Skilled Construction Tradesperson to support our residential construction projects from start to finish. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who brings broad construction experience, strong problem-solving ability, and a proactive mindset. You must be capable of working independently, making sound decisions on site, and contributing across all phases of the build - from groundworks to final completion. You’ll be expected to think on your feet, solve problems without fuss, and keep progress moving without needing to be micromanaged.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake a wide range of construction tasks including demolition, groundworks, steelwork, roofing, structural work, and internal and external finishing.
- Own the progress of your tasks, using initiative and practical knowledge to identify solutions and keep momentum on site.
- Apply common sense and site experience to get the job done safely and to a high standard - even when plans evolve.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications with precision.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment.
- Ensure correct and safe use of all tools and machinery.
- Liaise with supervisors and colleagues as needed to ensure smooth site operations.
- Uphold high standards of workmanship and site conduct at all times.
Requirements
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in residential construction and renovation.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and solve problems on-site.
- Strong experience across key phases of construction including groundworks, structural work, and roofing.
- Own tools and reliable transport (must be able to bring tools to site daily).
- Safe Pass and Manual Handling certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).
- In-depth knowledge of Irish building codes and site health and safety.
- Excellent timekeeping, reliability, and communication skills.
- Strong physical fitness and ability to handle the demands of on-site work.
- Strong site initiative - you understand how a build flows, where problems may arise, and how to handle them calmly and competently.
- A reputation for being dependable, tidy, and easy to work with.
Desirable Skills
- Ability to operate small machinery (e.g. excavators, teleporters) is a plus.
- Experience with tiling, plaster patching, and remedial works.
- Experience setting out small works and ensuring levels and measurements are correct.
- Flexible, “can-do” attitude with a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
What We Offer
- Competitive salary based on experience and skillset.
- A supportive and respectful work environment.
- High-quality residential projects where skilled craftsmanship is valued.
- Opportunities for professional growth and development.
- A strong team culture focused on safety, quality, and trust.
If you’re a highly experienced construction operative who thrives in a role with autonomy, variety, and accountability, this is the position for you.
