Abbott Diabetes Care has opened a new site, in Kilkenny, that is at the forefront of Diabetes care with the latest technology, to manufacture FreeStyle blood glucose test strips and FreeStyle Sensors for use in diabetes management. Among Abbott Diabetes Care leading brands are the FreeStyle Precision, FreeStyle Lite and FreeStyle Libre systems.

You will be an excellent communicator, have a strong technical background and possess the ability to lead, motivate and inspire your team. With strong fundamentals in safety and quality, your primary role is to ensure that production targets and schedules are achieved by effectively coordinating technical resources to maximise equipment availability/performance and yield across multiple process areas.
Your main responsibilities will be:
• Manage Technical Personnel. Provide Leadership and Develop Capability through Mentoring/Training & Coaching. Maintain time and production records.
• Ensure that the technical team deliver a service level required to maximise overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) Availability/ Performance & Yield.
• Application of structured problem solving to address issues and improve Quality or Output of areas under their responsibility.
• Communicate effectively to Senior Leadership on Root Cause, Corrective and Preventative Actions.
• Lead on maintenance and/or process/equipment issues across multiple process areas.
• Conduct Performance Excellence Assessments and Development plans to foster ongoing improvement.
• Ensuring conformance with all relevant Policies and Procedures. Contributing to the creation of Work Instructions and Operations Procedures to maintain compliance.
• Fault find and repair complex manufacturing equipment to component level.
Qualifications & Experience:
• NFQ level 7 qualification in a relevant discipline.
• 4+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• 3+ years developing a team.
• A strong multi tasker.
• An excellent communicator.
