Motor Distributors Limited, the exclusive importer and distributor of BYD, Mercedes Benz, SMART & XPENG in Ireland, wishes to recruit a passenger car Technical Training & Technical Support Specialist to lead the delivery of manufacturer-approved technical training to our network of Mercedes-Benz and SMART workshop technicians.
Reporting to both the Passenger Car After Sales Manager and Head of Passenger Car Technical, the successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality technical training in accordance with the manufacturer’s standards.
This is a multifaceted role that offers great scope and variety of work, to that end the role requires a person with a high degree of flexibility and adaptability. The successful candidate will play a key supporting role for our Dealer Network Partners, Manufacturer Partners and Internal employees.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Deliver structured technical training for Mercedes-Benz and SMART workshop technicians in line with manufacturer guidelines.
- Facilitate both classroom and hands-on workshop-based learning covering diagnostics, repair procedures, and new model technologies.
- Update and maintain training materials to reflect the latest product developments and service innovations.
- Evaluate technician performance during training and provide constructive feedback.
- Work closely with the dealer network to identify training needs and address skill gaps within the network.
- Support the maintenance of network and staff databases, continuously monitoring standards.
- Evaluate the training effectiveness, providing recommendations for improvements.
- Provide management reports on training results to assist with correct planning.
- Providing technical support to the dealer network and resolving technical issues.
- Providing excellent levels of customer support.
- Travel to various Training Forums and Events.
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Experience
- Significant experience as a qualified vehicle technician, ideally with passenger car Mercedes-Benz experience.
- Possess a strong technical background, with a proven track record in passenger car after-sales.
- Strong understanding of modern vehicle systems, diagnostics, and repair techniques.
- Manufacturer training certification or experience with OEM training programs
- Previous experience in the training and development space.
- Solid working knowledge of training theories and methods.
- Experience in delivery of training across multiple formats: Instructor Led, Face to Face, Virtual & Digital.
- Excellent communication, coaching and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to demonstrate a solid blend of theoretical knowledge and practical skills to deliver engaging and effective learner experiences.
- Self-motivated and self-confident, with the ability to work on own initiative.
- Excellent presentation and facilitation skills with the ability to guide and adapt to different styles and groups.
- Strong listening and creative problem-solving skills.
- Data literate with good IT and analytical skills, and a high level of attention to detail.
- Adaptable and flexible to changing technologies, processes, and environments.
- Technology integration, familiar and comfortable with the integration and use of social and digital media for training purposes.
- The ability to influence and gain the respect of our dealer network partners.
- A persuasive style with a positive determination to achieve results and meet deadlines.
- Good project management skills, ability to plan, process and deliver results.
- Be willing to travel to dealer branches and brand training such as Mercedes-Benz Germany on occasion.
