Job Description
This position is responsible for playing a pivotal role in our SAP Commerce Cloud development lifecycle. Lead the charge in automating SAP Commerce Cloud deployments, fostering a collaborative DevOps culture, and ensuring the efficient and secure delivery of e-commerce experiences.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design and implement innovative automation solutions using DevOps tools and scripting to streamline manual tasks, specifically within the SAP Commerce Cloud deployment process.
- Stay up to date on the latest DevOps trends and technologies related to SAP Commerce Cloud, evaluating and implementing best-fit solutions (CI/CD pipelines for SAP Commerce Cloud deployments, configuration management for SAP Commerce Cloud environments).
- Lead the adoption and implementation of cloud-based infrastructure for SAP Commerce Cloud deployments and management (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP), ensuring compliance with SAP cloud best practice.
- Champion a collaborative DevOps culture that fosters open communication and breaks down silos between development, operations, and security teams specific to SAP Commerce Cloud deployments.
- Design, implement, and continuously improve the CI/CD pipeline specifically tailored for SAP Commerce Cloud deployments, ensuring fast, reliable, and secure deployments of e-commerce experiences.
- Establish performance monitoring tools and dashboards to proactively identify and troubleshoot issues within SAP Commerce Cloud deployments. Define clear alerting mechanisms for timely notifications.
- Integrate security best practices throughout the SAP Commerce Cloud deployment lifecycle, including secure coding practices, vulnerability scanning of SAP Commerce Cloud deployments, and secure deployments following SAP security protocols.
KNOWLEDGE:
In addition to core DevOps responsibilities, a strong knowledge foundation is essential. Proficient in SAP Commerce Cloud architecture, functionalities, and deployment strategies, with a deep understanding of its integration within the overall IT landscape. Expertise in DevOps methodologies, CI/CD pipelines is required. Proven ability to leverage cloud platforms for optimal performance and scalability. Strong analytical skills are necessary to troubleshoot issues, optimize processes, and drive continuous improvement. Resolve a wide range of issues and assignments in creative ways.
SUPERVISION:
Receive minimal instruction on day-to-day work and minimal instruction on new projects or assignments.
MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE:
Typically, 5+ years of increasing responsibility in terms of any applicable professional experience.
PREFERRED EDUCATION:
Typically, a Bachelor's Degree or global equivalent in related discipline. Master's degree or global equivalent a plus. May hold one or more industry certifications.
SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in a DevOps Engineer role or related field, with a strong focus on SAP Commerce Cloud deployments.
- Proven experience in designing and implementing automation solutions using DevOps tools and scripting languages for SAP Commerce Cloud deployments.
- In-depth understanding of CI/CD pipelines, configuration management tools, and their application within the SAP Commerce Cloud environment.
- Strong understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and experience with SAP Cloud Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) a plus.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
- Passion for building and optimizing DevOps processes for high-performance and secure SAP Commerce Cloud deployments.
PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Typically, to advance to a new job level, Candidate must demonstrate professional behavior and should consistently be at the high-end of meets expectations or consistently exceed expectations.
TRAVEL / PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Travel typically less than 10%. Office environment. No special physical demands required.
