Job Summary: The Accounts Assistant role is responsible for supporting the Finance Department in ensuring accurate financial records, timely reconciliations, and efficient processing of transactions. Key duties include daily sales and receipt reconciliations, managing accounts payable and receivable, preparing supplier payments, and maintaining accurate financial reporting. The position involves preparing bank reconciliations, VAT returns, and supporting statutory reporting. It also contributes to fixed asset register maintenance.
Principle Responsibilities
Ensuring all sales are recorded accurately and highlighting issues, preparing daily sales.
Reconciliation of daily cash and credit card receipts highlighting any issues to relevant department.
Prepares all necessary payments for supplier for approval by the Finance Manager.
Accounts Payable - reconciliation of creditor statements and dealing with supplier queries.
Accounts Receivable - invoicing and aged debtors' periodic review to ensure payments received as per credit terms.
Month end preparation e.g., accruals, suppliers accounts reconciled to statement etc.
Preparation and completion of bank reconciliations.
Monthly reconciliation of BS accounts.
VAT return preparation and reconciliation.
Maintenance of Fixed Asset Register.
Support the Finance department with day-to-day accounting operations.
Participate in cross-functional projects to support business initiatives and improve overall financial performance.

Required Experience & Skills
Minimum 1-2 years' experience in a finance or accounts assistant role, or a relevant university degree in Business (or equivalent).
Strong knowledge of financial control processes and reconciliations.
Required knowledge of Microsoft Office, and Excel.
Proficiency in using financial systems, particularly Sage or similar accounting software.
Ability to work accurately and efficiently, ensuring compliance with financial policies and procedures.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Eligibility to work in Ireland.
