Job Title: Accounts Payable Manager

Position Overview:
The Global Accounts Payable Manager is responsible for overseeing the company’s worldwide accounts payable operations, including vendor payments, employee reimbursements, and travel & expense (T&E) processes. This role ensures accuracy, compliance, timeliness, and efficiency in AP and T&E functions across multiple regions, while driving standardization, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives. The role will be closely partnered with Finance, Procurement, Technology, Facilities, HR, and regional business units to support global business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Leadership & Strategy
- Lead and manage the global AP and T&E teams across multiple regions, ensuring alignment with corporate policies and local regulations.
- Champion the use of AI, OCR, and intelligent data recognition to improve data accuracy, reduce manual intervention, and accelerate processing cycles.
- Develop and implement global AP and T&E policies, procedures, and controls to drive compliance and operational excellence.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for AP and T&E matters for internal stakeholders and external partners.
- Drive automation, digitization, and best practices in AP and T&E processes.
2. Accounts Payable Operations
- Oversee the end-to-end AP process, including invoice receipt, coding, approval workflows, payment runs, and aged creditors reconciliation.
- Manage global payment cycles, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Resolve escalated vendor inquiries, disputes, and payment issues.
3. Travel & Expense (T&E) Management
- Oversee T&E policy administration, employee compliance monitoring, and timely reimbursement processes ensuring accurate reporting and streamlined audit processes.
- Partner with Corporate Services, Compliance, HR, and Business Partners to ensure cost-effective travel arrangements and enforce policy adherence.
- Conduct T&E audits to ensure policy compliance, identify potential fraud, and recommend corrective actions.
4. Compliance, Controls & Reporting
- Ensure AP and T&E processes comply with company policies, GAAP/IFRS, tax requirements, and relevant international regulations.
- Partner with internal and external auditors for AP and T&E audits, providing documentation and process transparency.
- Prepare and present AP and T&E performance metrics, KPI dashboards, and process improvement recommendations to leadership.
- Use AI-powered analytics to identify trends, forecast cash flow, and enhance reporting accuracy.
5. Continuous Improvement
- Identify process inefficiencies and lead global initiatives to enhance productivity, accuracy, and scalability.
- Evaluate and integrate new AI, OCR, and intelligent data recognition tools to continuously improve process performance.
- Implement training programs for AP and T&E teams to ensure consistent process execution worldwide.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field; ACCA or other professional certification preferred.
- 8+ years of progressive experience in AP management, including international and multi-currency environments.
- Strong experience managing T&E processes and expense management platforms (e.g., Oracle, Zendesk).
- Proven leadership skills managing global teams and working in a matrixed, multicultural environment.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
- Advanced Excel skills: experience with ERP systems required.
