General Operative
Based in Dunboyne, Meath Metal Products is a family run sheet metal manufacturing company. In business for over 40 years, we employ 30 people, with a focus on manufacturing precision engineering components and pressings for various industries, ensuring the highest standards of excellence in our products.
We are looking for a skilled General Operative to join our company. The ideal candidates will be responsible for assisting in the production of sheet metal components, ensuring a smooth workflow, and contributing to the overall efficiency and quality of our manufacturing processes.
Responsibilities
- Participate in product assembly, fitting fabricated parts together using hand tools and equipment.
- Perform quality checks on finished products to ensure they meet established standards and specifications.
- Handle raw materials and assist in inventory management by accurately recording usage and reporting shortages.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to safety protocols and guidelines at all times.
- Assist in the setup, operation, and maintenance of sheet metal fabrication machinery, such as cutting, bending, and forming equipment.
- Monitor machinery to ensure proper functioning, identifying and reporting any technical issues or malfunctions to the appropriate personnel.
- Demonstrate the ability to follow instructions, work independently when required, and exhibit punctuality by consistently arriving at work on time.
- Flexible to carry out other duties as may be requested by your manager over time
Skills/Experience Required
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
- Adherence to safety protocols and a proactive approach to maintaining a safe work environment.
- Comfortable working in a busy environment.
- Previous experience in sheet metal manufacturing or a similar production environment desirable but not essential as training will be provided.
- Demonstrated ability to follow instructions, work independently, and maintain punctuality in attendance.
Other Information:
- Normal working week is 39 hours
- Monday – Thursday 8:00 – 16:30
- Friday 8:00 – 15:30
- This is a manufacturing position. You will be required to wear safety boots (steel toe capped) and other relevant PPE equipment.
