- Data manipulation and preparation of reports
- Preparing and reporting on results of analyses
- Analysis of profitability of Commercial, Agricultural & Personal lines accounts
- Support and maintenance of technical models for high volume business using actuarial software (such as EMBlem)
- Development and maintenance of appropriate tools, models and structures that support the analysis of new and renewal business in support of business objectives

The successful candidate will build up the following skills and competencies during the work placement:
- Problem solving and analytical skills
- MS Excel skills including PowerPivot and some VBA
- SAS and SQL programming skills
- Written communication skills including using MS Word and MS PowerPoint
- Familiarity with actuarial software packages such as EMBlem, ResQ and Radar
- Oral communication skills through presentation of results of analysis at meetings
