OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The role is responsible for route planning and managing the daily delivery schedule and to maintain key functions in relation to the transport function. The role ensures accuracy of deliveries and improve the customer care and service to our customers, as well as monitoring and recording all transport cost within the associated trackers.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Allocating transport plan to the warehouse pick team
· Assist with the transport plan
· Maintenance of transport scheduling and associated costs
· Maintaining tracker logs in relation to outbound deliveries.
· Communicate effectively with colleagues in sales and customer service.
· Monitor PODs on Descartes On Demand
· Dealing with transport queries in relation to outbound deliveries
· Tracking third party traffic and checking and clearing all third-party invoices
· Booking courier requirements
· Dealing with internal and external sales queries regarding customer deliveries
· Co-ordinating with the transport manager to provide best in class service and communication.
· Data recording with regard Fuel monitoring, 3PL costs & customer returns
· Communicate effectively with colleagues in sales and customer service.
· To assist the Transport manager and resolve issues in their absence.
KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS
· Product knowledge of Interior products.
· Previous experience in route planning for a large distribution company.
· Understanding of Vehicle weight and dimensions capacities.
· Excellent IT skills (including Microsoft Office Package)
· 2-3 years administration experience in a high volume, pressurised environment
· Self-motivated, good interpersonal and communication skills
· Strong customer focus and a commitment to providing a quality service.
· Strong time management, organisation, and planning skills
· Commitment to learn and develop new skills.
· Flexible and hands-on approach.
· FLT licence desirable
