Role Overview:
We are looking for an Accounts Payable assistant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate must be highly organised and possess strong attention to detail to be successful in this fast-paced environment. Familiarity with a finance package such as Sage, QuickBooks or similar would be an advantage, but training will be given.
Key Responsibilities:
- Processing high volumes of supplier and customer invoices in an accurate and timely manner
- Reconciling supplier statements and resolving discrepancies
- Managing weekly/monthly payment runs and ensuring timely payments and allocations
- Liaising with suppliers and internal departments to resolve queries
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records within the accounting system
- Supporting month-end and year-end close processes
Requirements:
- Experience preferred, but not essential for the right candidate.
- Strong numerical and data entry skills with high attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a deadline-driven environment
- Team player with a proactive approach to problem solving
