Job Title: Revenue Collection and Protection Manager

Location: Ballymount, Dublin 12

Reporting To: Regional Operations Manager

Purpose: To lead the day-to-day management of our Revenue Protection for ODMA North and South operations.


Key Responsibilities and Tasks

  • Responsible for the management and performance of the Revenue Protection Officers (RPOs) in line with Company procedures
  • Responsible for enforcing relevant bye-laws on GAI ODMA services
  • Responsible for ensuring the number of Revenue checks carried out is in line with expectations
  • Responsible for ensuring that any Standard Fares issued and records of same are managed in line with company procedure
  • Compile Evidence Packs for the National Transport Authority (NTA) in relation to Standard Fares if required
  • Ensure all RPOs have correct warrants and training to undertake role
  • Work with the training team on the delivery of training to RPOs to ensure clear role responsibilities and to ensure they deliver excellent customer service
  • Manage the deployment and strategy of deployment for RPOs
  • Responsible for reviewing performance data linked to fare evasion to identify revenue protection risks and hotspots, and work to put mitigation measures in place for these risks
  • Work with Data Manager to improve and develop Power BI to further provide insights into our Revenue Protection and highlight any trends and hotspots
  • Assist wider operations team and adjust rotas for holidays and large events to cater for increased demand for transport and therefore higher likelihood for fare evasion
  • Implement strategies to ensure we perform strongly in this area and reduce the impact of fare evasion across the network
  • Ensure customers are aware of the Revenue Protection measures in place and the consequences of not having a valid ticket or Leap Card, and work on continuing to ensure clear communication to customers
  • Work with internal teams and the NTA to spread awareness of our Revenue Protection activities to enforce relevant Bye-laws through displays, our website, and public campaigns
  • Collaborate with An Garda Síochana on a local level through joint activities and community outreach
  • Report and present on performance to the National Transport Authority
  • Update GAIs Revenue Protection Plan annually, or more frequently as required
  • Work with the NTA in the roll out of Next Generation Ticketing project
  • Work alongside the Contract Manager on the NTAs Fare Evasion Surveys
  • Manage and analyse the ticketing data for any trends
  • Ensure the daily download of all relevant ticketing data
  • Manage the procedure relating to cash reconciliation to expected revenue
  • Work on continuous improvement in relation to cash reconciliation
  • Meeting and managing payroll budgets for Revenue Protection team
  • Ensure ongoing effective communications and engagement with Operations, Facilities and Finance team
  • Support HSEQ team as required
  • Provide first-line response to incidents where management attention is required
  • Ensure that Health and Safety requirements are monitored and managed proactively, including taking part in Management Safety Tours
  • Responsibility in managing, participating, and complying with the Integrated Management System (IMS)

Knowledge and Skills Requirements:

Essential:

  • Significant experience of managing a team in an operational environment
  • Relevant professional development or management qualification
  • Track record of meeting performance and an understanding of key operational performance
  • Experience of managing change effectively.
