The Congregation of the Sisters of Mercy, Western Branch, is seeking applications for the position of HR Generalist. The role will be based in Ballinasloe with Hybrid working opportunities available. The post holder will report to the HR Manager.
The role will require, on a day-to-day basis:
- HR administration – general administration within the department, drafting of employee letters, employment contracts and minute-taking
- Policy and procedures – development, update and maintenance of policies and procedures as required to keep in line with current employment legislation (regular review of HR files to ensure compliance)
· Monitoring compliance with employment law and internal HR policies, escalating where appropriate
· Record keeping and compliance – ensuring all employment records are up to date
· Participation in tasks and projects geared towards developing and achieving the organisation’s goals and objectives
· Participation in administrative, team and other meetings as necessary
· Identification of opportunities and recommendation of changes in line with best HR practice, tracking of key data and analysing trends in Human Resources, Recruitment, and the broader HR team
· Assistance in the development of an employee-oriented culture
· HR project work
· HR duties as required by management
Requirements:
Qualification:
- HR Qualification preferred
- CIPD Qualified preferred
Knowledge:
- Strong knowledge of Irish employment legislation.
Experience:
- Prior HR generalist experience is essential.

- Excellent communication skills, written and oral
- Proficiency in written communication such as minute-taking, report writing
- Strong planning and organisational skills with a high standard of accuracy
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues at all levels
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced work environment with a high level of attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and problem solve
- Self-starter / Self-motivated
- Full Clean Irish Driver's License
- Fluency in English, written and oral
- Excellent IT and administration skills

Pay: €25,000.00 per year
